How does the Hubstaff Referral Program work
Hubstaff has an attractive referral program that allows you to get 10% off your bill for each paid user you refer to Hubstaff. That means if you introduce 10 friends to a Hubstaff paid plan you’ll get 100% off your bill.
How does the Referral Program work?

- Locate your unique referral link. Each Hubstaff organization on your account has its own unique referral code/link. Please make sure you get the referral link from the organization which you wish referral credits to be applied.
- The referred user needs to sign-up to Hubstaff using your specific referral code/link. Users who have signed up without using the link are not eligible for the referral discount.
- Each successfully referral applies a 10% discount for both the referrer and the referred organization. Once the user has completed their 14-day trial and subscribes to any paid plan, the user becomes eligible for the discount. Due to system limitations, the discount is only applied to the 2nd monthly bill of the referred organization based on the date the referral link is activated where a 10% discount will be applied. For example, Organization A (billed every 30th of the month) refers Organization B. Organization B signs up for a paid account on February 24, the referred user will be billed in full without the discount on February 24, then a 10% discount will be applied to Organization A on February 28, then applied to Organization B on March 24. Note: adding users in the middle of the pay period will also trigger the discount to be activated.
- Each 10% off coupon is valid for 12 months. In the event that the total discount reaches 100%, succeeding coupons will be delayed until another coupon expires.

How to locate your unique referral link
Before you can refer friends to Hubstaff, you’ll need to get your unique referral link. Follow the steps below to find out how you can copy your own code for sharing.
Log in to your Hubstaff account and click on the Get Hubstaff free link located at the following sections:

Signing Up for Hubstaff Using a Referral Link
Step 1
Enter the referral link you received from another Hubstaff organization owner on your browser’s address bar.
Please ensure that the referral link is used when signing up as the referral bonus will not be processed when the URL address used is different from the referral link.
Your referral link will start with http://app.hubstaff.com/referral/ followed by a 22-character unique code. Please do not use a generic Hubstaff URL, for example, https://hubstaff.com.

Fill in the required information then click Create my account. Note that if you’ve used the correct/valid referral link, you will see “Lock in 10% off for a year by choosing a paid plan.”

You will then be asked to verify their account via email. Click Confirm account.

Choose the I’m a business owner option.

You will then be asked to fill out some details regarding their organization. Once completed, you will be taken to the subscription selection page. Once you select a plan and enter their credit card details and press save, your 14-day trial will be active. After the trial period, your paid subscription will be active. The discount will be applied on your and the referrer’s next billing date due to system limitations.
Frequently asked questions
Does the referral link have an expiration date?
For the new user/referred party, no – they can always get the 10% off. For the referring party, yes. If the referred party doesn’t convert to a paid plan 90 days after signing up, they won’t earn a discount for the sign up.
How does the referral link work?
If the user follows the link and doesn’t sign up and then clears cookies, uses a different browser, incognito mode the referral discount won’t carry over. If the user follows the link and then signs up, the discount will be linked to their account.
Does the new referred organization have to have at least 1 bill?
Yes, discount for both parties occurs when a first time subscriber uses a referral link and then pays their first bill.
Does the referring organization also have to have a paid subscription, otherwise the discount code won’t be applied to it?
Yes, users cannot access referral program unless on a paid plan.
If the referring organization no longer has a paid subscription but the referred organization started a paid plan and paid 1 bill, will the latter still get the discount applied?
Yes, referral links are not dependent on the continued status of the referring organization.
What happens when I have more than 10 referrals (100% discount)?
First, congratulations because you’ll be getting Hubstaff for free! Second, each qualifying referral beyond the first 10 will begin once your discount drops below 100%. This allows you to extend the time period for which you’ll have a 100% discount. For example, when your oldest referral expires or another referral cancels, the waiting discount would begin and effectively take its place, keeping you at 100% off.
If during the year any of these organizations cancel the paid subscription and then restart with a new paid plan, will all the stuck (or single) discounts disappear?
Yes.
If a referred or a referring organization cancels their monthly subscription, does the organization lose their 10% discount?
Yes, the 12 months discount at 10% off is dependent on each organization maintaining a paid subscription.
Will upgrading/downgrading my plan cancel the referral discount?
Upgrading or downgrading paid plans would not cancel the referral discount.
When am I eligible to make a referral?
Organization owners with a paid subscription are eligible to avail of the referral program.
How do I know the discount has been applied?
You will see all active/pending/expired referrals under the Referrals & Discounts dialog.
The user being referred MUST use the referral link to sign up, or the discount will not be applied.
If the referred user does not sign up for a paid plan within 90 days, the discount will not be applied.
The discount will only apply when the new customer is subscribed to a paid plan.
Referrals will stack. If you refer 2 people to Hubstaff and they are on a paid plan, that would be 20% off. Referrals could go up to 10 people, which provides 100% off your paid subscription. Each paid organization can have up to 10 active referrals at a time. Should you have additional referrals, the discount will only begin when one of the active referrals have expired.

Terms and Conditions
In order to be eligible for the promotion payouts, the referee must subscribe to an Annual plan with at least 5 seats. Both the referrer account and the referee account must be active at the time the payouts are issued. You cannot participate in pay-per-click advertising on trademarked terms, including any derivations, variations or misspellings thereof, for search or content-based campaigns on Google, MSN, or Yahoo. For the purposes of these terms, trademarked terms include Hubstaff, Hubstaff Tasks, Hubstaff Talent, Hubstaff Field, Hubstaff Desk, and Hubstaff Time (all keywords apply as broad match). Referrals are paid out periodically on a monthly basis in the month following the successful referral. Hubstaff reserves the right to declare a referral ineligible for the promotion if Hubstaff believes that you are abusing the referral program.
